Hazard Mitigation Plan Project 2022

The Town of Harvard, led by the Office of Community and Economic Development and The Fire Department, is pleased to announce the commencement of a project that will update Harvard's Hazard Mitigation Plan. This Plan will also incorporate recent hazard and vulnerability information developed by the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) projects in Harvard over the past three years.

The project will be managed through a five member ad-hoc staff level committee composed as follows:

  1. Chief Richard Sicard, Fire, Co-Chair
  2. Chris Ryan, Planning Board, Co-Chair
  3. Timothy Kilhart, DPW Director
  4. Chief James Babu, Police
  5. Jeff Hayes, Building Commissioner

It will also have a stakeholder group made up of people representing a range of related subject areas such as climate action, health, emergency management, conservation, MEMA, and the public utilities serving Harvard.

There will be a series of public meetings and workshops where the public can participate and contribute to the discussion. If you have any questions about participation, please contact Chris Ryan at cryan@harvard-ma.gov or 978-456-4100. See below for materials from these events.

This page will serve as the central repository for key documents and other information required by bidders, staff, board members, and other stakeholders. An ad-hoc working group will also be created for this project and information about meetings and members will also be hosted here. If you have any questions about this Hazard Mitigation Plan project, please contact Chris Ryan at cryan@harvard-ma.gov or 978-456-4100 x.323.
