Community Development

Community development is a practice-based profession that promotes participatory democracy, sustainable development, citizen rights and equality, economic opportunity, and social justice, through the organization, education, and empowerment of people within their communities, in urban and rural settings. Community Development in Harvard involves addressing issues specific to the town, many identified in the 2016 Master Plan, that are intended to improve the quality of life and create opportunities for Harvard citizens. These issues include the following:
