HOOSICK, N.Y. – New York State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in the Town of Hoosick.

Around 8:22 p.m., on July 9, troopers were dispatched to Clay Hill Road in the Town of Hoosick to investigate a motorcycle accident.

The investigation revealed a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Kirk Vonhaggin, 55, of Hoosick Falls, was traveling northeast on Clay Hill Road when a deer entered the roadway.

The motorcycle struck the deer, and upon impact, both Vonhaggin and his passenger, Mary Eddy, 66, of Hoosick Falls, were ejected.

Eddy was pronounced dead at the scene and Vonhaggin was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
